|
| Q: |
How long does each appointment last? |
| |
| A: |
Initial evaluations are scheduled for 60 minutes and may last up to 90 minutes to allow time for thorough evaluation and design of the treatment plan. Follow-up appointments are scheduled for 30 minutes and may last up to 90 minutes to allow time for treatment (manual therapy, exercises, etc.). |

| Q: |
What is the proper attire? |
| |
| A: |
Please come dressed comfortably (shorts, loose-fitting clothing, etc.) so the therapist can better access and evaluate the area of dysfunction. |
|
| Q: |
Do I need a physician's referral or script? |
| |
| A: |
Yes. Please bring the referral to your first visit. You can have your physician's office fax the referral to our office 301-231-7801. |
|
| Q: |
What if I don't have a physician's referral or script? |
| |
| A: |
In general, you need a physician's referral to see a physical therapist. However, Maryland, among other states, has enacted Direct Access legislation, allowing patients to receive physical therapy services without a physician's referral. All insurance companies require a referral for reimbursement for any services rendered to the provider. As such, we are happy to offer evaluation and treatment services even if you do not have a physician's referral at the time of your visit. The initial evaluation charge is $120, and follow-up visits are $90 each. We will provide a receipt for each of your visit(s). Make sure you submit the claim to your health insurance company for reimbursement. |

| Q: |
How will physical therapy help me? |
| |
| A: |
Physical therapists help patients, including accident victims and individuals with disabling conditions (such as low-back pain, arthritis, heart disease, fractures, head injuries, and cerebral palsy), by providing services that restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities. They restore, maintain, and promote overall fitness and health. In the event that our therapists cannot help you, they will make appropriate referral to other allied health professionals who may be able to help you. |
|
| Q: |
Do you offer consultation and treatment at home? |
| |
| A: |
Yes. Our physical therapists are trained to provide physical therapy or rehabilitation services in the comfort of your own home. Call our office for more information on home services if you are homebound, need assistance of a nurse or aide in the home, and live within a 20-mile radius from our office. |
